MORE THAN 40,000 people visited The Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Theme Park in July, increasing on previous visitor numbers in 2009, its delighted management has revealed.

The Lost Paradise of Dilmun waterpark opened its doors this season in March and has attracted guests from all over the Gulf region alongside other international tourists and Bahrain residents.

Adam Page, head of marketing and public relations, said: "LPOD has seen people drive and fly to the facility and we have regular repeat visitors - some come as often as possible, even five days a week!

"We had one guest who drove from Dubai two weeks in a row to LPOD for a visit for one day and then returned a week later to see singer Ali Bahar at one of the many concerts we have put on."

The water park now boasts three climbing walls to suit all ages and skill levels with prizes for all who dare to take up the challenge. A water walking ball has proved a big hit too with visitors. It allows guests to climb inside a giant inflatable ball and walk around a huge water enclosure.

The attraction's Ladies nights with DJ Leila playing every Thursday has continued to grow in popularity with more than 2,900 flocking to Al Areen on one night alone in July. The last Ladies Night before Ramadan has just been staged.

During the Holy Month opening hours will be 4pm-1am and 7pm-1am weekends and weekdays respectively and Iftar and Ghabga packages will also feature.
