Thursday (Sept 2) The group preliminary round of the Bahrain Financing Company (BFC) Open Bollywood Dance Competition will take place at 8.30pm at the Indian Club in Manama. Semi-finals for both divisions will take place on September 9 ahead of the grand final on the third day of Eid.

Dancers will compete in three age groups, eight to 12, 13 to 17 and 18 to 35. Each age group will also feature solo and group dance categories and contestants must use Bollywood film soundtracks during their performances.

Registration is BD1 per person, BD3 for teams of three to five people and BD5 for teams of more than five. Registration forms are available at the club reception daily after 7pm and deadline in Sunday, 10pm.

The competition will feature three categories, with each having a winner and runner-up who will receive Bollywood Dance Champion accolades and prize money.

The best solo dancer from each of the three categories will win a trip to Kuwait to participate in the Star Performer in the Woogie Woogie 2011 music event that is being organised by Kuwait-based Karma Entertainment.

A furniture sale at Blooming Buds Kindergarten Compound on Karannah Avenue in Budaiya from 9am to 1pm today and tomorrow.

Tuesday (Sept 7)

Alliance Francaise Bahrain will host the works of GrŽgory Lasserre and Ana•s van den Ancxt at an interactive art exhibition named 'Akousmaflore & Ombres' in Isa Town. It runs until October 31. For more details contact 17683295.
