Bahrain Hockey Association (BHA), in partnership with the Spectrum Group, is hosting an Eid rink hockey tournament for men on September 13-14 at the Indian Club.

The matches will be held from 8pm to 11pm. The format will be played on a 'round robin' format with knock-out stages leading up to the final.

"Having successfully hosted rink hockey tournaments in the past, we are committed to hosting more tournaments to develop the interest and competition levels of field hockey in Bahrain," said BHA general secretary Anson Sequeira.

The concept of rink hockey has its origins in the western Indian city of Mumbai and has grown in popularity through famous institutions such as Bandra Gymkhana and Willingdon Gymkhana. It is a variation of field hockey wherein the teams are made of five players including a goalkeeper.

Interested teams can collect entry forms from the Indian Club reception or contact the BHA on 39658618 (Jude D'Souza) or 39901820 (Rubert Castellino).

Members and guests can also visit the BHA 'official fan page' on Facebook for tournament updates and general news. For further queries, email the BHA at bahrainhockeyassocn@gmail.com
