WORLD CHAMPION surfer Billy Tennant is riding high on a crest of a body-boarding wave and plans to enthral watersports lovers with an awe-inspiring show during an Eid splash-tacular in Bahrain.

The 25-year-old South African will be joined by fellow 'flow-rider' Wesley Fisher at the Wahooo! waterpark in Bahrain City Centre.

Hi-tech wave machines have created a whole new generation of indoor surfing enthusiasts and stars of the sport. Tennant said: "I believe the sport is growing and in a positive direction.

"The advancement in wave technology will only get better and some day we will see even bigger waves being created. I believe that the adrenaline rush is like nothing on earth. Riding a perfect 6ft barrelling wave that is never ending is almost as similar as riding a wave in Hawaii!"

Both surfers were acclaimed members of the winning championship team at the International Flow-riding Championships (IFC) 2009. They are being flown into the kingdom to celebrate the new sales of O'neill products and to enthral Wahooo! guests with a display of tricks and turns on the water park's own Flowrider.

Tennant and Fisher arrive tomorrow and will be in the kingdom for a week. They will be presenting regular day-time displays throughout the first four days of Eid supported by music entertainment from Virgin Megastore's resident DJ, Faith.

Tennant added: "I have been a body-boarder for 11 years and got into flow-boarding in 2004 with a bunch of friends.

"Riding a perfect barrelling wave - nothing compares! I have been travelling with the sport for four years and my fondest memories have to be a tour of the US in 2007 and the world championships last year in Singapore.

"I haven't been back to Bahrain since last year but what I can say is that everyone is super friendly and the Wahooo! team is amazing and super efficient."

As well as sharing flow-riding tips, on the last day of Eid water park visitors will be invited to perform their own moves and tricks in a 'Jam Session' at 6pm, which will then be judged by the world champions and a prize awarded to the winner.
