DONAL Logue, right, has claimed that viewers will be able to relate to his new TV crime drama Terriers.

The show stars Logue as Hank Dolworth, an ex-cop who teams up with former thief Britt Pollack (Michael Raymond-James) to form a private investigation service.

"I have a weird feeling viewers will recognise something that will be vaguely reminiscent of friendships they had in high school or college," he said.

He added that his dishevelled appearance in the series will help it resonate with audiences.

"I think we look like guys people recognise," he suggested. "I don't clean up well. I don't like to. And I don't apologise for it because I think there's a lot of people like me. I don't think I'm ever going to be that conventionally chiselled-jaw Hollywood dude. In the show we got to be really free."
