Al Zain Jewellers will launch a limited edition bracelet today to show their support and solidarity with Bahrain's breast cancer charity, Think Pink.

This is the second successive year that the leading Bahraini jewellery house has joined hands with the charity by designing a special bracelet to correspond with the international breast cancer awareness month.

Yousif Al Ghawas, brand manager of Al Zain Jewellers, said: "Think Pink Bahrain does a fantastic job raising awareness of breast cancer and we are proud to support them in their hard work.

"Al Zain offers a product that is quintessentially female as jewellery is worn by women all over the world.

"With many plastic 'support bracelets' floating around for every cause we decided to create a genuine gold bracelet that not only signifies a person's support but also contributes a commercial value to increase funds for the cause itself. Al Zain is donating 25 per cent of sales to Think Pink.

"We hope to see many women wearing this unique bracelet, be they breast cancer survivors or friends and families of survivors."

This year the bracelet is designed in 18 carat yellow, rose and white gold and has two hands of protection symbolising the 'hand of Fatima', an ancient symbol believed to ward off an 'evil eye' and protect the wearer.

The international sign to show support to the cause an enameled pink ribbon, which is also incorporated in the bracelet. Only 300 pieces will be produced at a price of BD100 each and will be available at all Al Zain jewellery stores in the kingdom.

The initiative to support Think Pink Bahrain began last year at the behest of one of the jewellery house owners, Samar Al Gosaibi.

Al Zain contributed BD3,845 to the breast cancer charity from the sale of the Hope Bracelet last year.

Al Zain plans to release a different bracelet every year to show its support for Think Pink Bahrain. "To mark the five-year collaboration between Al Zain and Think Pink, we plan to release a limited edition bracelet in 2013 with charms of the previous five years attached to it," explained Mr Al Ghawas.

With the purchase of every bracelet, buyers will receive information and statistics about breast cancer including the link to the website, which details breast self examination.

The jewellery house which has been in the kingdom for more than seven decades has branches all over the region.

Al Zain sales team across the kingdom will wear pink ties, scarves and pink a special ribbon pin throughout this month to show support for the cause.
