Wednesday (Oct 6) Bahraini artist Faika Al Hassan will exhibit her work in an exhibition titled 'Cities of the Universe' until October 23 at the Bin Matar House at the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre in Muharraq.

The exhibition will display more than 15 of her new works.

In addition, the artist has expanded her repertoire by designing jalabiyas as well as silk and cotton shawls. The Bin Matar House is open Saturday to Thursday, from 9am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm. For details contact on 17322549.

Thursday (Oct 7)

The 19th Bahrain International Music Festival will feature A Filetta at the Cultural Hall near the Bahrain National Museum at 8pm. A Filetta was founded in 1978 in France. Their repertoire includes folk song, sacred hymns, original compositions, film soundtracks, dance, theatre and opera collaborations. For details contact 17683295.

The Indian Ladies' Association's (ILA) will host the Megamart Dandiya Dhamaka at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain's Conference Centre in Manama from 8pm. It will feature a performance by Dandiya DJ Yogi. Bahrain-based Aapka Paresh and radio presenter Just Juhi will be the event's masters of ceremony. Tickets are BD3.

The Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya is hosting an exhibition entitled 'Mirage' featuring Egyptian artist Hazem Taha until October 16. A selection of his abstract paintings and photographs will be held in Albareh CafŽ. For details contact 17717707.

Saturday (Oct 9)

The Filipino Club Bahrain will host an international hip-hop competition for adult dancers offering cash prizes and a trophy. It will take place at different venues. Today, on October 16 and 23 the competition will be held at Enigma and Lambada from 7pm to 9pm, tomorrow, October 17 and 24 at Euphoria, on Monday, 18 and 25 at Twister and F1 Club and on Tuesday, October 19 and 26 at Bedrock and Tempo Club. The CinŽ-club will show Le plaisir de chanter at the Centre Culturel Franco-Bahre•nien La Maison Jamsheer, Muharraq, at 7.30pm. It tells the story about the relationship between Muriel and Philippe who work for an intelligence agency. Their latest assignment is to recover a secret hidden (maybe unwittingly) by Constance, the attractive widow of a shady businessman. The movie is in French with English subtitles.
