The 1970s appear to be back with a bang. Love Story meets Studio 54. Boot cut flares teamed with over-sized blouses set the daytime tone and are accessorised with head scarves and wide brim hats, while the midi dress determines the season's length.

One-shoulder satin tops, and palazzo halter-neck jumpsuits provide the evening attire.

It's all party of New Look's womenswear collection which bursts into spring revealing a cute and accessible range of colourful clothes and accessories.

Florals make a welcome return, while white is the dominant shade of the season lending its tone to sports-inspired apparel, as well as classic tailored pieces.

Not to be outdone by hues of white, bold brights make in-roads into the season's colour palettes and are reflected across scalloped edge shorts, spring macs, peg leg trousers and pretty summer tops. Key colours include pillar box red, electric blue, bright purple and sunshine yellow.

The collegiate look is reworked; argyle twin sets are teamed with fierce leather pencil skirts for a bang on trend look. Pleated gym-style skirts are perfect twinned with cotton cable knits and the varsity jacket is back, over-layered with vests and shorts.

The New Look Limited Edition range presents an ethereal slant on the 1970s trend. Floral dip hemmed dresses sit alongside vintage-inspired silhouettes in sheer textured fabrics with white lace providing the detail.

Embroideries are intricate and elegant on button-fronted skirts and blouses, florals are ditsy and Broderie Anglaise is feature throughout cami tops, skirts and scallop edged shorts.

The range offers a subtle nod to tribal with ethnic prints in both neutral and bright colour palettes visible on palazzo trousers, skirts and bandeau tops. Tie-dye tops, skirts and shorts in tones of white, mocca and nude complement the look.

Lingerie oozes sophistication in rich jewel tones and beautiful fabrics. High waisted, lace panelled pants worn with long line bras channel retro glamour whilst sumptuous satins add a touch of luxury. Animal print lends a contemporary twist to classic styles when teamed with delicate lace edges.

Muted shades of nude and gold are overlaid with lace for a dramatic effect and black chiffon is pin-tucked and frilled; the epitome of feminine chic. Broderie Anglaise returns and is worked into bodices and briefs whilst nightwear is fashioned from super soft jersey, featuring pretty lace trims on cami-tops and cute boy shorts.

Also, drawing inspiration from the 1970s, swimwear 2011 is all about looking fabulous whether on the beach or poolside. Opt for tie-side triangle bikinis, attention-grabbing cutaway styles or one pieces that fit and flatter with lace up details or bejewelled necklines.

Broderie Anglaise, a key trend, adorns swimwear and kaftan cover-ups, a holiday wardrobe staple which effortlessly takes you from hot days on the beach to balmy summer nights. Prints are back with a vengeance this season, from candy stripes to psychedelic swirls, pretty florals to fun palm tree prints and those oh-so-chic abstracts.

Vibrant block colours embellished with bows, ruffles and beading will ensure you get noticed whether it's in Kelly Brook's deep fuchsia frill bikini or New Look's leopard bikini. Bring on the summer!

In September 2006, New Look store at Deira City Centre, Dubai was the company's first foray into the region, followed by stores in the Bahrain City Centre mall, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, taking the total to 36.

The outlets come under the umbrella of Landmark International which is spearheading Landmark Group's next expansion stage, sourcing, securing and rolling-out internationally successful fashion and lifestyle brands in the Middle East.

MENSWEAR

THIS season it is all about the detail, be it stitch detailing, trims or insignia patches. Vintage-style workwear is inspired by the 1930s America, with double-denim continuing as a trend forerunner from relaxed bleached surfer-style, or raw-edged and rugged.

Chambray shirts are classically cool and the chino is this season's hardest worker in shades of dark tan, ecru and navy. The collegiate look is updated taking inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic; the all-American teens and Public School Brits mixing sharp and preppy style jackets with casual sports.

Nautical - the spring/summer perennial is back in a palette of whites, blues and reds. Breton stripes are twinned with royal blue macs, to give an air of sophistication. Beachwear takes its direction from a past era of surfing - think 'The Endless Summer' whilst vintage-inspired t-shirts and shorts are paired with lightweight hooded tops for breezy spring evenings on the beach.
