THE biggest TV talent show on the planet - American Idol - hosted by Ryan Seacrest, kicks off on a high note on Wednesday, February 2, at 8pm on OSN's America Plus.
Episodes will be shown every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with recaps on Sunday and Monday also at 8pm.
The hit series empowers contestants and viewers to share their voices in deciding who will be America's next singing superstar.
"This new season promises to deliver amazing, undiscovered talent with plenty of surprises along the way," an insider from the production crew promised.
Golden Globe-nominated actress, platinum-selling recording artist and movie producer Jennifer Lopez and multiple Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steven Tyler, the front man of Aerosmith, join record producer Randy Jackson for the 10th anniversary season.
Every year, tens of thousands of hopefuls from across the US compete for a shot at stardom. The show's judges travel across the country in search of the next idol. They winnow down the competitors to a select group of semi-finalists who sing their hearts out each week in front of a studio audience and television viewers.
Eventually the competition is narrowed down to two finalists who compete for a major recording contract and the title.
Past winners Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze, as well as fan-favorites Jennifer Hudson, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry, have all become household names and made their mark on the recording industry.
Viewers should hang on for the ride, the tears, the bitching (and that's just the judges) and watch the most talented contestants battle their way to the top.
