The Lulu Hypermarket is hosting its popular annual Festival of India at its three branches at Ramli Mall in A'ali, Dana Mall in Manama and Riffa until Saturday.

Customers can check-out special offers on a range of products including textiles and electronics and a taste of regional cuisine at food stalls.

To add to the atmosphere the stores are recreating the charm and colour of an Indian fair with shows featuring craftsmen flown in from India.

There will be puppeteers from Rajasthan who will delight children with traditional puppet shows, bangle makers whose nimble fingers will create lac bangles in traditional Rajasthani-style and also use coloured threads to tightly wind around carefully designed frames of ornaments.

A glass-blower will be on-hand to create exquisite craft pieces. There will also be a Rajasthani miniaturist who will display miniature paintings.

Lulu Hypermarket is also showcasing a traditional kite-flyer from Delhi, who will fly 100 kites at the same time. Meanwhile, local cultural groups who will put on dance and fashion events.
