Diverse design duo Julia Bruchwitz and Zara Hassan are creating a buzz in the world of fashion by integrating the styles of 'east meets west' in their collections.

Julia hails from Germany and previously worked for Louis Vuitton in France before setting up the JZ Couture label with Zara Hassan, a fashion major from the Fashion Institute in Pakistan.

Julia and Zara travel around the world and their inspiration stems from Eastern crafts and Western silhouettes.

JZ Couture was started in early 2010 and the label now works with a number of selected boutiques worldwide and, to ensure exclusivity of the brand, the production of each piece is limited.

Exotic Kaftans and flowing feminine dresses of Asian and Arabic vibes, their creations are incredibly reflective of the pair's worldly experiences. Based in Dubai, the designers say their target market is any woman seeking an aspect of 'unique upper class' within her wardrobe.

As a whole, JZ Couture's style offers consumers an element of wearable sophistication with special patterns aimed at flattering all figures. The latest collection is a signature assortment of luxurious kaftans. The dresses merge an elegant blend of western-inspired silhouettes and garment cuts with eastern detailing.

Mostly floor length, the gowns comprise a variety in shape ranging from sleeveless plunging necklines to a full and floaty sleeve. Whatever the shape, all the pieces exemplify the brand's timeless and classy persona.

The dresses incorporate an extensive and luxurious palette of both colour and texture. Rich tones of fuchsias, intense turquoises and crisp whites provide a versatile palette that has something to offer for every occasion.

The use of fabrics such as chiffons, velvets and silks not only add to this sense of opulent glamour, but also flatter and drape in an incredibly feminine way.

Embellished by intricate features of traditional Pakistani-design-inspired embroidery and intersections of lace, the designers are confident the fine detailing that adorns the gowns will exude the running theme of 'grace and poise'.

Julia said: "Our Kaftan dresses are exclusive and make every woman feel comfortable, feminine and stylish."

JZ Couture's latest collection was showcased at The Perfect Wedding Show at Expo Centre Sharjah last week.
