Bahrain-based Banz Trading & Contracting, an independent subsidiary of the diversified Banz Group of Companies, secured contracts worth a total of $100,000 during the recent Gulf Industry Fair (GIF 2011) in Bahrain.

Among notable deals signed with leading international industrial trading firms was a $35,000 contract which will see Banz Trading represent Italian pump manufacturer Caprari in the kingdom. Banz Trading has already secured approval from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to represent Caprari products in Bahrain, and to support the partnership and aftersales efforts a new pump assembly workshop has been built at Banz Trading's facilities in Sitra.

Other supply contracts were tied up at GIF, held from February 8 to 10, as Banz Trading showcased leading products in its portfolio. These included radiator coolant from Navistar International, which was launched at the show, and Loctite adhesives and sealants, which were the subject of a live demonstration by Banz Trading. Compared to previous years, the company also received a notable increase in walk-up visitors to its exhibition stand, which also received strong support from Tamkeen.

Banz Group general manager Aloke Rakshit said: "The fair proved to be a successful springboard for the group, whose motto in the current challenging business environment is 'when times are tough, let's push for growth'. Through GIF, we were able to efficiently convey our business principles and corporate ethics throughout the trading and industrial world. The fair played a pivotal role in our branding efforts, not only for potential clients in Bahrain but also as part of our strategy to increase our overseas market share."

HCE managing director Jubran Abdulrahman said: "Positive feedback from exhibitors gives us confidence in Gulf Industry Fair's status as a place where real business is done. We are delighted that Banz Trading, a valued participant in HCE trade shows over several years, benefitted from its participation and we wish them well as they fulfil their orders gained at the show."
