You’ll be pleased to know new album releases are in abundance and not only from unfamiliar band names either, check these beauties out:
American R’n’B singer Chris Brown’s fourth album F.A.M.E. has plenty of guest writers, producers and guest vocalists as is now expected in this genre but don’t dismiss is it as just another album. One music critic suggested that “Brown continues to blur the lines between soul, hip hop, pop and dance” and this rings true with this release.
The Strokes first hit the scene about 10 years ago, and Angles shows just how good they are at varying their music and producing top tunes.Trademark vocals, guitar riffs and catchy beats will have you putting this on repeat on your iPod.
Now here’s a thing – the new trend seems to be anything remotely linked to the 80s which is no bad thing, but when you see these two legends of the ‘modern romantic’ period releasing new albums you know things are looking up.
Duran Duran - All You Need Is Now is the Mark Ronson (yes, the guy who effectively launched Amy Winehouse’s career with Valerie) produced 13th album from these veterans of the music industry now boasting around 30 years of top tunes and touring around the world.Fans young and old will love the catchy tunes which annoyingly stick in your head ages after you’ve switched them off your player.
HUMAN LEAGUE – Credo keeps up the current 1980s trend and also with other Sheffield-based band revivals occurring (insert Heaven 17 here!) and doesn’t fail to deliver yet another good album. Supremely infectious chart pop music which hopefully will attract thousands of new fans to that stand alone Phil Oakey music style of years gone by.
Finally, I’m only going to mention this album because I think the artist has one of the best names ever – Roddy Woomble has been releasing albums and touring with Idlewild for 15 years, and I haven’t this yet heard … but thought it was worth a mention.
So I’ll leave you with this thought – it’s one that when I placed on my Facebook page a while ago received a huge response:
‘Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups’.
