I JUST wanted to congratulate GolfScene columnist Chris Kelby on the extremely well written tribute to Seve that he penned last week.

He certainly articulated the greatness of the player, the character of the man and his contribution to the game internationally. Reading the article brought a tear to my eye and I'm sure it did to many other readers.

Seve will be sadly missed.

Peter,

THANK you, on behalf of the Rotary Club of Manama, for your excellent feature in GulfWeekly on Rotary's six-a-side charity event at the Bahrain Rugby Club. A good read and a good cause.

OUR project, launched as part of M.E. Awareness Week 2011, 'A sentence of M.E.' has a deliberately obvious double meaning: The horrible experience of this largely invisible and disabling illness seems like a prison sentence for the most severely affected.

So, we are asking people, who are affected by M.E, (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), not only sufferers but also carers, family, friends, maybe even doctors and nurses, doing their best to care for people with the condition, to express how it feels in just one sentence, in order to raise awareness.

You may wish to write about a single episode, or about how it feels to endure M.E. It's up to you. You can submit as many sentences as you like and can do so under your own name or anonymously if you prefer.

We'll put the messages on our website, Facebook and Twitter.

International M.E. Awareness Day on May 12 every year but, for us, every day is M.E. Awareness Day. So, there is no closing date for this one. Send your messages to drjohngreensmith@mefreeforall.org with 'A sentence of M.E.' in the subject line.

Dr John H Greensmith,
