International DJ Stevie George can be found entertaining the masses at Muju Lounge on Amwaj Island and many other places around Bahrain.

Firstly, may I say that all the hard working guysand girls at the GulfWeeklyneed a major pat on theback for all the hard workthey are putting into tryingto get Bernie Ecclestone to confirm the return of Formula One to the homeof motor racing in the Middle East … Bahrain!

I am a huge fan of MotoGP,where over the years it hasbeen down to the skill of therider not only to win races, but give feedback to the engineers so the bike can be set up and developed further. No pit stops, no tyre changes, no refuelling – just pure racing talent!

Formula One seems to have lost some of its excitement since the Senna-Mansell-Piquet-Hill days but the Chinese Grand Prix had me riveted for its duration. Right up until the final few laps, I had no idea which driver was going to finish in which position – and hats off to the FIA for trying to reintroduce that lost exhilaration. Well done!

But as we speak, a message is being ‘hand delivered’ to Mr Ecclestone and his crew, showing how much the wonderful people of Bahrain want, need, demand, in fact, are pleading for confirmation of the race being staged later this year. So, that got me thinking – songs about delivering messages:
Stand And Deliver – Adam and the Ants
Message In A Bottle – The Police
Please, Mr Postman – The Carpenters
A Message To You Rudy – The Specials
Signed, Sealed, Delivered – Stevie Wonder
Letter From America – Proclaimers
And my personal favourite:
The Letter – Boxtops (great tune!)

But, of course, depending on the outcome, one of two songs could be played on Radio Bahrain, and I know which song I would prefer:
Cheryl Cole ft Will I Am – Heartbreaker or
Cliff Richards – Congratulations!

So, with fingers and toes crossed for a positive result, let me tell you this:
I’ve taken a vow of poverty, so to annoy me send money.
