International DJ Stevie George can be found entertaining the masses at Muju Lounge on Amwaj Island and many other places around Bahrain.
OH woe is me (or however a dramatic thespian would say that line) because I am currently overwhelmed with distress – one of my favourite Terry Pratchett paperback books has started disintegrating in front of me whilst I suffer the stress of sunbathing and splashing about the local swimming pool.
Extremely confused, I asked a very dear friend of mine who pointed out that the heat/sun attacks the adhesive used to bind the pages together, so slowly but surely, my Disc World novel is losing weight quicker than I am on my new diet and fitness regime.
But help is at hand – because the very same friend suggested buying one of those Kindle machines which allows you to electronically read your book anywhere, and in direct sunlight if necessary because unlike those iGalaxy-Pad-Tab super tablet touch-screens which are backlit, the Kindle screen looks and reads like paper. And this invariably got me thinking about songs referring to books, writing, authors and words:
The Monotones – Who Wrote The Book of Love Stereophonics – Mr Writer Scritti Politti – The Word Girl The Beatles – Paperback Writer Natasha Bedingfield – These Words Tom Tom Club – Wordy Rappinghood Gun – Word Up Ellie Goulding – The Writer Chaka Demus and Pliers – Murder She Wrote Tinie Tempah – Written In The Stars
But my favourite song in this theme has got to be Extreme – More Than Words, a song that brings back memories. I will leave you with this thought: Confucius say ... Sumo Wrestling is survival of the fattest.
