Wednesday – June 8

Film – The Killer Inside Me on OSN Cinema at 8pm
Lou has a bunch of problems – woman problems, law enforcement problems, an ever-growing pile of murder victims in his West Texas jurisdiction … and the fact he’s a sadist, a psychopath, a killer. Suspicion begins to fall on Lou, and it’s only a matter of time before he runs out of alibis. But nothing is ever what it seems, and it turns out that the investigators pursuing him might have a secret of their own.

Film – Date Night on OSN Cinema at 8pm
Claire and Phil Foster are a suburban husband and wife slogging through their daily lives and marriage. They however always manage a date night and on one occasion Phil decided to do something different. But a case of mistaken identity hurtles this very ordinary couple into an extraordinary adventure. Remembering what made them so special together, Phil and Claire take on corrupt cops, ruthless mobsters and a crazed cabbie, as their ‘date night’ becomes the craziest night they’ve ever known.

Film – District 9 on OSN Premiere at 7pm
In 1982, a star ship bearing a bedraggled alien population, nicknamed ‘The Prawns’ appeared over Johannesburg. Twenty-eight years later, the initial welcome by the human population has faded. The camp where the aliens were located has deteriorated into a ghetto called District 9. In 2010, a munitions corporation is contracted to evict the population with operative Wikus van der Merwe in charge. Wikus is exposed to a strange alien chemical and must rely on his only two new ‘Prawn’ friends.

Film – Hart’s War on Fox Movies at 11pm
Fourth-generation Army Col William McNamara is imprisoned in a German POW camp. Still, as the senior-ranking American officer, he commands his fellow inmates, keeping a sense of honour alive, all under the dangerous eye of the Luftwafe vetran Col Wilhelm Visser. McNamara is silently planning for his moment to strike back at the enemy. A murder in the camp gives him the chance to set a risky plan in motion. With a court martial to keep Visser and the Germans distracted, McNamara orchestrates a cunning scheme to escape and destroy a nearby munitions plant, enlisting the unwitting help of young Lt Tommy Hart. Together with his men, McNamara uses a hero’s resolve to carry out his mission.

This is the story of a failed drummer who is given a second chance at fame. Robert ‘Fish’ Fishman is the extremely dedicated and astoundingly passionate drummer for the 80s hair band Vesuvius, who is living the rock ’n roll dream until he is unceremoniously kicked out of the band. Twenty years after his rock star fantasies are destroyed, just when Fish has finally given up all hope, he hears that his nephew’s high school rock band is looking for a new drummer.

Film – Lucky Number Slevin on Fox Movies at 9pm
A case of mistaken identity lands Slevin into the middle of a war being plotted by two of the city’s most rival crime bosses: The Rabbi and The Boss. Slevin is under constant surveillance by relentless Detective Brikowski as well as the infamous assassin Goodkat and finds himself having to hatch his own ingenious plot to get them before they get him.

It is 1961 and attractive, bright 16-year-old schoolgirl, Jenny is poised on the brink of womanhood, dreaming of a rarefied existence as she sings along to Juliette Greco in her bedroom. Stifled by the tedium of adolescent routine, Jenny can’t wait for adult life to begin. Meanwhile, she’s a diligent student, excelling in every subject except the Latin that her father is convinced will land her at Oxford University. One rainy day, her life is upended by the arrival of an unsuitable suitor.
