Bahraini Yousif Falah was crowned the Batelco Ramadan Bowling Tournament champion on Saturday at the Bapco Club in Awali.
Falah defeated Mohammed Al Jahromi in the final match 235 to 220.
Al Jahromi had started with five strikes in a row but the experienced Falah – well-known as ‘The Golden Boy’ – managed to finish strongly the moment he opened in the sixth frame, placing him in the second spot. Third place was won by Mohammed Al Shawoosh with an average of 190.
Falah was awarded a cash prize of BD400 for his efforts, with Al Jahromi getting BD300 and Al Shawoosh walking away with BD200.
The competition, sponsored by Batelco and Bapco, was played in memory of bowling legend Hasan Ramadan. The players’ entrance fees of BD3 along with donations made by the sponsors and guests went towards the education of Mr Ramadan’s four-year-old daughter.
