Today, the doors to Bahrain’s latest address in the five-star luxury hospitality sector have opened with the Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel Bahrain City Centre beginning operations in its first tower.
Officials say that a pre-opening team of 85 has been working around-the-clock to get the Kempinski Grand Hotel ready for its soft opening and more than 270 staff will be on duty when the hotel is fully operational.
The second tower – Kempinski Ixir Hotel – will have an Arabic influence and a modern touch and is expected to open during the first week of October.
General manager Stephan Kaminski urged the kingdom’s residents to experience the hotel chain’s acclaimed personalised service in its multi-million dinar brand new, modern and sleek setting.
Mr Kaminski, who comes from the German city of Munich and boasts more than 30-years experience in the hotel industry, said: “Come and feel us. You have to experience us to realise the difference. It is a wonderful designer hotel.
“We combine individuality with a European flair in a different way to our competitors.
“We are not a company that says we offer a home-away-from-home ... we like to offer ‘an experience’.”
The two towers make up the 65th property in Kempinski’s international chain of luxury hotels. With 460 rooms including 79 suites, one of which is a breathtaking Royal Suite, it is the second largest in the group and the largest in the kingdom.
Both towers offer panoramic city and sea views, are connected to the popular Bahrain City Centre mall and linked by a swimming pool.
While the lobby of the Kempinski Ixir Hotel is connected to the shopping complex, the Kempinski Grand Hotel opens next to the swanky Saks Fifth Avenue store through its all-day fine dining restaurant Saveur and its neighbouring T-spoon – a tea and coffee bar that features more than 50 flavours of tea along with chocolates, cakes and confectionary. A mezzanine lounge with private pods, WiFi and live music also opens for business today.
