National carrier Gulf Air has further expanded its codeshare partnership with American Airlines adding 22 more cities in the US to its network.

With the expanded codeshare agreement, customers can now book and fly to cities such as Montgomery, Oklahoma City, Colorado Springs, Little Rock, Midland, Norfolk and Birmingham in addition to 40 cities already available on its network.

In all, Gulf Air now offers more than 500 daily flights to 62 cities on the American Airlines network.

“The expansion marks an important milestone in our growing relationship with our long term partner American Airlines,” said Gulf Air chief commercial officer Karim Makhlouf. “As a customer-focussed business, we aggressively seek to offer as many travel choices as possible to our customers through partnerships in markets where Gulf Air does not fly directly.

“This expansion further opens up the vast North American market to our customers, who can now book directly with Gulf Air and travel seamlessly to and from 62 cities on American Airlines via its three European stops – London, Paris and Frankfurt.”

Gulf Air says it has excellent customer-friendly connections to American Airlines via its two daily flights between London and Bahrain, the daily flights to Paris and Frankfurt and the six weekly flights to Milan.

With the expanded codeshare, passengers have a wider choice of more than 500 daily flights across 62 cities in the US on American Airlines that include popular destinations such as New York, Chicago, Miami, Orlando, Dallas, San Francisco and Houston. For passengers travelling from the US to the Middle East, Gulf Air presents the largest network in the region with more than 670 flights per week.

Gulf Air Frequent Flyer members are eligible to earn and spend their miles on American Airlines when they book with Gulf Air. The new cities added to Gulf Air network are: Birmingham, Huntsville, Pascagoula, Montgomery, Colorado Springs, Little Rock, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Shreveport, Jackson, Biloxi, Oklahoma City, Waco, Amarillo, Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Killeen, Laredo, Lubbock, McAllen, Midland and Norfolk.
