The two-day Russel and Memorial competition was played in perfect conditions at Awali Golf Club.
The 36-hole stroke play event was won by Graham Tole with a fantastic net total of 131 (nine under par). Tole, who was four shots behind overnight leader Robert Storrie going into the second round, shot a stunning net 61 (gross 71) to blow away the field.
Committee member David Spittal finished in second place with a total of 133 (67 and 66). Spittal displayed remarkable consistency over the two rounds and continued his impressive form this season. The final podium place was won by Ateeq Majali with a fine two round total of 134.
Anil Nair continued his consistent form this season with a four under par total of 136 to secure fourth position.
Peter O’Brien and Stephen Diaper also finished on 136 to claim fifth and sixth positions respectively. Overnight leader Robert Storrie followed up his excellent first round of 66 with a solid 71 which was good enough for seventh position.
The final three members of the top ten were veteran Pete Rogers,Yeon Gul Kim and Ahmed Al Noaimi who each finished on a respectable 139 total.
There was some fantastic golf played by many of the competitors over 18 holes including some impressive shots from Nicky Bailey (67), Christian Trzebinski (67), Susan Scott (68) and David Bailey (68).
