Bahrain’s top player Jaffer Ibrahim will lead a host of local stars when the Travelex Indian Club-GCC Open Badminton Tournament gets underway on December 28 at the club’s two courts. More than 100 players from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Bahrain are expected to participate in the three-day event, which is being organised by the club in association with the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF).

The event will feature competition in seven categories – men’s singles, men’s doubles, mixed doubles, veteran’s doubles, under-19 boys singles, under-19 boys doubles and under-19 girls doubles.
Satheesh G is chief co-ordinator of the tournament and Jayashree Nair and Hary R Unnithan are the event’s co-ordinators. Spectators are welcome free of charge.
