Czech automaker Škoda has broken new ground in the supermini car segment with the all-new Škoda Fabia, an entry-level compact hatch-back.
The exterior design of this nippy little runner features standard 15”, 5-spoke alloy wheels and a new lower front ‘lip’ which, the makers say, gives the Fabia an aggressive and sporty stance.
The interior boasts electronic auto air-conditioning, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, radio-Mp3 player with a brightly illuminated screen for information. The ‘maxi-dot’ display screen provides information to the driver about fuel consumption, speed warnings, and system messages.
The premium fabric seats are supportive and comfortable, with the driver’s seat featuring adjustability for height as well as pedal reach, the company adds.
Despite the marque’s compact exterior dimensions, the spacious interior is on-par with medium–sized sedans and can seat five adults comfortably. The trunk also has over 45 litres of space.
Under the bonnet, the supermini boasts a 1.6-litre 4 cylinder engine that pumps out 106bhp, which the company says is ideal for buyers with sporting inclinations. It is also equipped with a quick-shifting 6-speed tiptronic automatic transmission as standard.
For safety, the Fabia is equipped with advanced driver and front passenger airbags as standard as well as anti-lock brakes and the ‘electronic stability programme’ or ESP.
