A fund-raising dinner is taking place today and tomorrow at the Orchid Thai Restaurant in Ramada Palace Hotel to support the victims of Typhoon Sendong. The ‘Dinner for a Cause’ event aims to encourage people to be involved in collecting any form of support possible. Along with local Filipino community groups, the restaurant has pledged to send part of the sales revenue to CDO – Cagayan De Oro Bahrain Chapter and relief goods will be sent directly to support centres in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines. A series of artworks symbolising the biblical story of Joseph’s exile in the desert is open at Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya. The exhibition, entitled Yousuf, from Iraqi artist Nazar Yahya, will run until February 14 from Saturdays to Thursdays from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm.
