The new BMW 3-Series has been unveiled at a motoring ceremony staged at the Royal Golf Club at Riffa Views.
The launch by Euro Motors, the distributor of BMW in the kingdom, took place in the presence of company officials, members of the media and brand enthusiasts.
It’s makers say the sixth generation BMW 3-Series offers drivers the choice of opting for a modern, sport or luxury ride with three different designs to choose from.
Paul Yates, Euro Motors general manager, said: “The new car is bigger, sportier and more dynamic, and is also the first BMW model to be available with the three different lines.
“Within each line, customers can choose a number of exclusive finishes and equipment variants to suit their taste.
“The car is beautiful not only to look at but also to drive with an eight-speed automatic transmission. We are certain that the new 3-Series will prove very popular among all car enthusiasts in the kingdom.”
The sixth generation 3-Series boasts a new BMW face, with flat headlights reaching along as far as the kidney grille.
The model has also increased in length (+93mm), width (front +37mm, rear +47mm) and wheelbase (+50mm) compared to the predecessor model, giving the car an elegant and athletic silhouette, its makers say.
The sleek sedan is available with a 335i 6-cylinder or 328i 4-cylinder engine with eight-speed automatic gearbox and Twin-Power Turbo technology.
Hamid Haqparwar, BMW Group Middle East’s area manager, said: “BMW is the first carmaker to offer an eight-speed automatic gearbox in the premium mid-size segment, offering more ‘Efficient Dynamics’ technology that make the new series more economical and lower in pollutant emissions compared to the predecessor model.”
