A CONSISTENT performance with two goals either side of half-time, saw reigning league champions Oak FC dance a jig past Arabian Celts B for a 4-0 victory.

Oak, missing several players with work commitments, wives’ birthdays, injuries and old age, got off to a lively start when in the eighth minute a near post corner resulted in a nutmeg flick finish from Austin ‘Frank’ Rudman.

The Celts had several crisp passing moves without success before David ‘wor kid’ Waugh charged up from right back on the overlap, Jairzinho like, and smashed in an unstoppable low shot into the bottom corner of the net. By half-time, Oak FC looked solid and comfortable with a two-goal lead.

A five-minute ‘cameo’ saw Del Rodney come on to give Adil Glia a rest, whilst both were nursing hamstring strains. However Glia, last year’s league top scorer and player of the season, now back on in the second half, was given too much space on the edge of the Celts penalty box and scored from close range.

Oak continued to dominate and were rewarded when Nesu effectively killed the game off, late into the second half with a fourth goal following good buildup work down the left from the back.
