One of the world’s leading technology companies has made one of the kingdom’s most innovative schools a ‘showcase’ for its products.

SMART Technologies Inc has named Riffa Views International School as the first ‘SMART Showcase School’ in Bahrain because of its ‘trail-blazing’ commitment to providing students with 21st Century learning, through the adoption and integration of its products.

The school has installed interactive whiteboards and projectors in each of its 42 classrooms. Every teacher uses award-winning SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. Classrooms are also equipped with its classroom management software, helping teachers make the most of class time.

Under the control of the teacher, SMART Sync allows students to display their computer work on the interactive whiteboard, making an easy transition from personal learning to whole class participation.

“Our goal is to equip our students with the tools necessary to succeed in an increasingly technologically-driven society,” said Dr Bernadette Carmody of Riffa Views International School. “As the first SMART Showcase School in Bahrain, we are pleased to be at the forefront of setting education standards by offering our students the chance to excel through technology-based learning opportunities.”

Aaron Fright, area manager, Middle East, SMART Technologies, said: “We are very pleased to acknowledge Riffa Views International School as a trail-blazer amongst the educational institutions in Bahrain and our first SMART Showcase School in the country.”
