Race fans unfortunate enough to miss out on this week’s GulfWeekly competition to win F1 tickets can still catch all the action from the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2012 on TV.
The next best thing besides actually being there, Abu Dhabi Sports will air some of the weekend’s top races.
The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2012 is being broadcast on Abu Dhabi Sports 2, a free-to-air sports TV channel but the coverage will be entirely in Arabic. However, at least those stuck at home minding the children or buried under work at the office will be able to catch a glimpse of the action.
The race will also be shown on the pay-to-view channel Abu Dhabi Sports 6 HD. This gives viewers the option of switching between Arabic and English commentary which means they can experience the action in high definition and the language of their choice.
On Friday, the practice sessions will start airing at 10am, followed by the GP2 at 4pm. Day two of the F1 will start broadcasting the final practice session at 11am, followed by the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at 12:25pm and qualifying race at 2pm.
Day two will end with the GP2’s first race at 3:45pm. The final day of F1 coverage will begin with the second race of the GP2 at 10:50am, followed by the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup’s second race at 12:05pm. The main race will be shown at 3pm.
Abu Dhabi Sports commentator and analyst, Ayman Abd El Wahed, will be providing a play-by-play of the action at the Bahrain International Circuit on all three days. He will begin five minutes before each race, but is due to start 30 minutes before the main race on Sunday.
