The Ford Expedition was ranked at the top of its segment in the recent J.D. Power and Associates’ 2012 APEAL study.
The Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study examines what consumers like about their new vehicles after 90 days of ownership. It is based on eight categories of vehicle performance and design: engine/transmission; ride, handling and braking; comfort/convenience; seats; cockpit/instrument panel; heating, ventilation and cooling; sound system; and styling/exterior.
The Ford Expedition earned the top spot in the Large Crossover/SUV Segment. The model offers flexible seating for eight, featuring the second-row CenterSlide seat and PowerFold third-row seat, as well as towing capacity of up to 9,200 lbs.
In the Middle East, the overall appeal of the utility vehicle can be seen by the growing demand across the GCC markets where Expedition sales for the first seven months were up by 140 per cent over the same period last year.
“The Expedition is going from strength to strength with the continued patronage of our loyal customers across the GCC.
The fact it achieved top marks in the APEAL study is a clear vote of confidence that Ford is delivering products that our customers want,” said Larry Prein, Ford Middle East’s managing director.
Ford had a total of six vehicles in the top three in their respective segments overall including the Ford Fiesta (Sedan and Hatchback), Mustang, F-150, F-250 and F-350 trucks.
The Expedition starts from BD11,295.
