BRM stormed to an impressive victory in a hotly-contested four-hour endurance race at the Bahrain International Circuit’s (BIC) VIVA Karting Track in Sakhir.

The victors, comprising the talented trio of Mohammed Mattar, Ali Abdulla Alhalwa and Abdulla Buhindi, completed the gruelling event with a grand total of 176 laps.

Bahrain Enduro Team, which included Raed Raffii, Khalid Alsaei and Ahmed Kooheji, were the runners-up having completed 176 laps too, but BRM came away with first place after finishing 47.239secs ahead of their rivals.

En route to their victory, BRM registered the fastest lap of 1min 16.134secs. They also had an average lap time of 1:16.992, making them the only team to consistently run under 1:17 around the 1.414km track.

In third place with 174 laps were Team Knightriders featuring Ahmed Ebrahim, Ali Dadi and Omar Farid.

Stallions finished fourth and Redx Racing Falcons fifth, both with 171 laps apiece, while Racer Times were ranked sixth on 169 laps. Delta Racing Falcons rounded out the final classification with 167 laps in seventh place.

BRM and Bahrain Enduro Team both made eight pitstops during the event, while the Knightriders needed nine. Stallions also required eight, whereas the bottom three squads each pitted nine times.

BRM sent out an early warning to the rest of the field as action got underway in the event. It was Bahrain Enduro Team, however, that set the early pace and claimed pole position after clocking a fastest lap time of 1:16.783 during qualifying.

BRM were close behind the on the session’s time sheet, registering just 0.085secs slower before eventually outperforming their opponents in the race.

Team Knightriders (+0.345secs) and Racer Times (+0.738secs) were to start from row two, with the Stallions, Redx Racing Falcons and Delta Racing Falcons forming the back-end of the grid.

The four-hour challenge was a standalone event. It featured several of the kingdom’s top drivers and karting teams competing against other teams from across the Gulf.
At the end of the race, prizes were distributed to the top three teams by BIC and VIVA Karting Track officials.

Results from the meeting will also be counted towards the Sodi W Series, which is an international leisure karting ranking that gives participants an opportunity to qualify for the Sodi W Series Grand Final.
