While the recent tech war reports have been focusing on the battle between Apple and Samsung, notably the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S3, Nokia is now looking to take a bite out of both brand’s profits with the recent launch of its new Lumia 920 and 820 models.
These new models are powered by a Windows 8 operating system and Microsoft hopes customers will be impressed with its efforts.
The Nokia Lumia 920 has a 4.5-inch display and a 1,280x768 resolution. Its rear camera boasts 8.7MP, and its front camera 1.3MP. It has autofocus, a dual LED flash and has PureView and Carl Zeiss optics.
Meanwhile, the 820 boasts 4G skills and Near Field Communication as standard and a 4.3-inch screen.
However, the Lumia range has to contend with the biggest gun in Apple’s arsenal to date, the iPhone 5, which will be launched in the kingdom tomorrow.
The new model has a larger display, a faster chip, ultrafast wireless technology and an 8MP iSight camera that shoots 1080p HD video. It also sports a 4-inch retina display.
The all-new Apple-designed A6 chip in the iPhone 5 is powerful with an outstanding battery life. Its graphic performance is twice as fast as the A5 chip.
Last week, Viva announced a pre-booking campaign on its website, saying that the device, which uses a nano SIM card will be available with an official iPhone warranty.
The new model, which will be available in 16, 32 and 64GB options, will be available at all viva retail outlets. Prices for the handset start from BD274.
The Nokia Lumia smartphone series is now available exclusively on all VIVA Smart plans, including Smart 20, Smart 25 and Smart 30 as well as VIVA Platinum Plan, starting at BD20.
