New initiative targets schoolchildren

A NEW sports initiative called the Primary Sports League began in Bahrain with six primary schools competing in various sports to gain the highest points and take home gold, silver or bronze medals.

The participating schools were St Christopher’s junior school, British School of Bahrain, Riffa Views International, Modern Knowledge, Bahrain Bayan and Ibn Khuldoon National School.

The first tournament was a football competition for girls and boys, 11 and under, hosted by St Christopher’s junior school.

Results - Girls: 1 St Christopher’s School, 2 Ibn Khuldoon National School, 3 Modern Knowledge School.

Boys: 1 British School Bahrain, 2 Modern knowledge School, 3 St Christopher’s School.

The next event will be on January 30, when St Christopher’s junior school will be hosting a track and field meet.
