THE new Renault Fluence builds on the comfort of its predecessor but places an updated emphasis on technology and design enhancement alongside more dynamic lines.
It is now available across the Gulf region with the new 1.6 16V 112 CVT X-Tronic automatic gearbox and the 2.0 16V 143 CVT X-Tronic automatic gearbox.
The balanced proportions of the car mark it out as a substantial three-box C-segment (compact family cars) saloon. With its flowing and modern lines, it features Renault’s new, confident and more dynamic frontal design identity, its makers say.
Inside, the cabin carries over the major themes of the previous version but delivers finishes that are more sophisticated.
The front-end design of Fluence takes its inspiration from the marque’s higher segment models, Koleos and Safrane.
The front bumper is bolder, with a large lower air intake that broadens towards the base and fog lights set against a gloss black have the effect of visually widening this lower intake, giving the front a sporty touch.
The interior is packed with high-end technologies designed to make driving simpler. The centre stack incorporates a large LCD screen, the main functions of which include a digital speed display and the visual component of the parking assistant function.
The Fluence also offers a range of driver-assistance technologies, including the hands-free key card for locking and unlocking of doors, as well as push-button ignition.
On the higher equipment level, the parking assist system features four rear-parking sensors and automatic parking brake, which applies itself as soon as the ignition is turned off and released once the engine is running again. The price is BD5,595 for the 1.6L CVT version.
