A nail-biting clash between dynamic Desert Divas and struggling RCSI ended in a five-goal thriller.
The Divas went three goals up and appeared to be cruising to victory with strikes from Shauna Nearing, Ashleigh Packer and Amy Weir.
However, RCSI showed true grit and fighting spirit to claw two goals back through super sub Anastasia Salinas.
Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to turn the game and Divas held on with style to win Thursday’s night’s game.
Twenty-four hours earlier the GulfWeekly-sponsored Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Ladies League witnessed the two title challengers Eastern Flames and Arsenal Reds clash for the top spot.
The match was hard fought with both teams desperate to secure the vital three points.
The Flames were on fire and leapt into the lead with goals from Wumi Andrews, Amy Goodwright and Ainsley Gibson before Alaa Al Alawi replied for the Reds.
The Flames are flying high and sitting at the top of the league with a five point cushion.
Earlier in the week Arsenal Yellows and Arsenal Junior Gunners produced a high-scoring draw. The youngsters opened through Kia Hanahoe. The Yellows equalised thanks to prolific Rama Salem and soon took the lead with another strike from the hotshot.
Millie Gallagher made it 3-1 before Kia Hanahoe grabbed her second of the night. Just before half time a powerful strike from Lamees Saqqa restored Yellows two goal advantage. In the second half two goals from Bahrain international Deena Rahman levelled the score.
Venus defeated Joga TFA 3-2 with Tala Bashmi scoring two goals with Mariam Al Khalifa taking the third. Joga failed to grab a point despite goals from Kholood Ali and Sara Jalal.
In the final game, the Bahrain U16 National Team crushed RCSI 8-0, with three goals from Amira Sowar, three more from Noor Anwar 3, and one apiece from Dana Tarif and Hessa Zayani.
