Bahrain’s biggest water theme park, Lost Paradise of Dilmun (LPOD) has opened its doors with a line-up of new games to entertain guests.
LPOD has added non-water based games including a bungee trampoline ride, Rodeo Bull challenge and a fun football interactive game.The water park also brings a new array of delicious food choices with grills, burgers, salads, mini-snack stations as well as Chinese fast food. There are also 12 private cabanas for rental located in primary areas of the waterpark, a variety of lockers, towels and all sorts of items are available at its Souq. MORE than 20 major buildings in Bahrain will be switching off their external lights for an hour on Saturday as part of The Supreme Council for the Environment’s backing of a global green initiative.
Families are also urged to switch off all lights in their homes except in the room they choose to gather in from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.
Those participating in the annual Earth Hour, launched by the World Wildlife Foundation in 2007, include Al Fateh Grand Mosque, Isa Cultural Centre, Electricity & Water Authority, Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Urban Planning, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Finance, Central Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain National Charter Monument, University of Bahrain, Bahrain International Circuit, World Trade Centre towers, Moda Mall, Sheraton, Bahrain Financial Harbour towers and mall, Almoayyed Tower, Chamber of Commerce Building, Gulf International Bank, Bahrain City Centre, Kempinski Grand & Ixir hotels, Seef Mall, Fraser Suites and the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel Residence and Spa.
Coca-Cola Bahrain will also switch off non-essential lights including those in the syrup room and some raw material storage areas.  

Selma Dabbagh, the author who ditched the drafts of her novel in a waste bin on Budaiya Highway following bitter rejections from publishing houses only for the work to be snatched up and become a soaring success, will be back in Bahrain to help aspiring writers.
She will be holding a creative writing workshop at Words Bookstore Café in Palm Square, across the road from the bin, on Wednesday, March 27 from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Selma’s novel Out of It – a traumatic tale about young Palestinians – was published by Bloomsbury in 2011 and she enjoyed a successful talk and book signing at Words last April.
Co-owner Rana Aljalahma said: “We are thrilled that Selma is coming back to visit and really excited about the prospect of holding a writing workshop. 
“There is a huge circle of very talented writers in Bahrain, and it would be a great opportunity to exchange ideas and get some tips from Selma on how to hone their writing skills and get their work published!

Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba troupe is back in Bahrain with its premiere dance musical Amigas. Featuring the fictional story of divas Mercedes, Caridad and Regla, the group tells the story of how and why they separated when audiences loved them most. The company’s performances combine elements of flamenco, ballet and contemporary dance with Spanish and Afro-Cuban rhythms. From Cuba, the Ballet Revolución show combines a fusion of ballet, contemporary dance and hip-hop, against a blend of sounds meshed with Cuban classics, Latin American and R&B hits.

Melody Gardot is a Grammy-nominated American singer, writer and musician. She created a blend of jazz-infused music over the past decade, catching the eye of major record labels with the 2008 release of her album Worrisome Heart. The Mahler Chamber Orchestra created its own ensemble pursuing a vision of an independent international orchestra. 
The show will take place on March 27 at 7.45pm at the Bahrain National Theatre. Tickets cost BD20, BD30 and BD40.

Yanni is a popular Greek pianist, keyboardist, composer and music producer. He blends jazz, classical, soft rock and world music to create predominantly instrumental works.
Yanni will perform on April 2 at the Bahrain National Theatre.

Kadim Al Sahir has been dubbed the ‘Caesar of Arabic Song’ and ‘Iraq’s Ambassador to the world’. Throughout his 30-year career, he has sold over 100 million albums and performed live to millions across the globe. He will perform on April 6 at Arad Fort.

Interactive Musical Atelier will perform at the Salman Culture Centre on Friday and Saturday at 11am and 4pm. This Italian musical theatre group combines visual, emotional and immersive theatre.
