Martin Allison, chairman of the Dilly’s management committee, was in colourful form at the opening of the new Allied Pickfords Mini Golf Course at the popular expat club in Saar.
He showed how to the tackle the nine-hole challenge by potting a hole-in-one at his first attempt on the newly-constructed course, which he helped design, to the rapturous applause of onlookers.
Now in normal circumstances this would warrant ringing the bell and buying refreshments for everyone present. Apparently that doesn’t count in this crazy world of par 2 facilities. You can be assured the Whisperer will be checking the rules at the Royal and Ancient.
