Boredom can be dangerous

Currently on Easter vacation, I find that I have not been taking full advantage of the time off from school. Rarely leaving my house, I tend to waste the day in front of the television or on the computer.

Yet, when I finally get stir crazy and crave doing something proactive, I have discovered that there is not actually much to do as a teenager in Bahrain.

When I do eventually go outside, it is usually only to visit a friend at their house and we rarely venture out.

Of course there are some things that we could do around Bahrain. We could visit the malls with the cinemas in them, or perhaps we could spend the day at one of the water parks.

However, these activities and others like them all cost money, and it is not economically viable to visit them every weekend.

It is no secret that boredom causes frustration, which usually leads to bad behaviour. Teenagers need an element of risk in their lives; perhaps that is why most of the people behind the burning tyres are usually youths and young adults.
