Whisperer

THE Whisperer has long been a fan of Bahrain’s magnificent Tree of Life and although there has been much talk over the years I await anxiously for proper visitor facilities to be erected so that tourists can enjoy its majesty alongside a coffee shop, restrooms and car parking facilities befitting such a unique national treasure.

The spin-offs are potentially astronomical. The sales of toy trees, post cards, gift sets and even real-life bonsai trees would soon have the coffers swelling.

In fact, one UK company already produces a popular range of Tree of Life beauty products.

“The gift set is very popular in Bahrain,” said Dan Richards, junior export manager of Baylis & Harding. “We do many different products in that style of gift set.”

It’s like selling oil to the Arabs. It’s our tree and we should be creaming off the profits!
