THE GulfWeekly-sponsored Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Ladies League kicked off season six, with seven teams participating for the title.

Arsenal Red and Yellows went head-to-head in the first game. Yellows took the lead with a fantastic header from Nada Alsaeed. Reema Alqassab equalised later on for Reds before Tamara Kawash grabbed a late winner for the Yellows.

Junior Gunners faced the newly-formed London Arsenal, made up of players who will be competing in the London International Festival in August.

The season will allow them the opportunity to prepare for the festival. Two goals from Nicole Moir secured the win for London Arsenal even though Junior Gunners fought back with a goal from Kia Hanahoe.

In the final game of the night, Joga TFA and Desert Divas shared the points with a 2-2 draw. Ines Brazier and May Haji were on target for Divas, with Amal Matrook scoring twice for Joga.

Venus, who enjoyed a rest day, will play their first match this week.
