A children’s play zone has opened at Al Rashid Group’s (ARG) Oasis Centre in East Riffa, offering games and rides for youngsters to enjoy while their parents are busy shopping.
The Fun City play paradise is in an area totalling around 15,000 square feet, filled with a range of activities and games targeting children between the ages of one to 12.
Kunal Harisinghani, Fun City marketing manager, said: “This is our first in Bahrain and we are planning to launch another Fun City in Muharraq’s Oasis Centre by the end of this month.
“At the mini-city we have an Idea Play Zone for children aged between four and 12 and a Fun and Learn Play Zone for children ranging from one to four.
“The Idea area features sensory enhancing toys and a ball pool. The city also includes redemption and novelty games where kids can redeem tickets and others can instantly win prizes such as princess tiaras or footballs. We also have larger video games that adults can enjoy and big rides for older kids.
“The highlight of Fun City is the Play Zone, which is a secure and hygienic location for parents to leave their children while they are off running errands.
“All parents have to do is leave their children’s details and pay a one-time entry fee of BD3 applicable for the whole day. Other kid zones in the kingdom don’t do that, causing parents to come back every hour to pay an entrance fee, which can be inconvenient. We want parents to feel secure knowing that their children are in a safe, clean and happy environment.”
Fun City is located on the top floor of ARG’s mall, which is part of one of the largest retail organisations in Bahrain, Landmark Retail.
Four youngsters, Yara, Isa, Rashid and Rasha, who are the grandchildren of Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, the Children and Mothers Welfare Society chairwoman, cut the ceremonial ribbon at the opening.
Shaikha Hind said: “I brought my grandchildren to Fun City to give their parents a break and they love it. It was only right for them to cut the ribbon as this is their new haven.
“Parents will also love this for their kids because there is a learning zone and a play area for all ages. The children can have fun instead of being dragged around with their parents.”
Another grandmother, Shohra Al Sharif, a businesswoman, from Adliya followed in Shaikha Hind’s footsteps by bringing her grandchildren for some fun. She said: “I brought my granddaughter Salma, four, and grandson Zaid, three, to play and enjoy themselves.
“It’s really nice here. It gave me a chance to play with them and I have been trying to win prizes for them as well!”
The fun starts from 10am and runs to 11pm on weekdays and 10am to midnight on weekends.
