A three-day window into the Northern Gulf’s property world opened in Manama this week as the inaugural Gulf Property Show took place under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister of Bahrain.

The Gulf Property Show, being organised by Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE) with the support of the Bahrain Property Developers Association (BaPDA) at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC), opened yesterday alongside the market-leading gulfBID and gulfInteriors exhibitions, now well-established shows in the regional calendar which together attracted more than 6,500 visitors last year.

Strategically sponsored by Manara Developments, a leading real estate developer specialising in affordable housing in Bahrain, the Gulf Property Show is offering a barometer for the health of a regional real estate sector showing signs of resurgence.

Jubran Abdulrahman, managing director, HCE, said: “HCE’s vision for the Gulf Property Show is simple – a boutique property exposition.

“We believe the decision to stage the show at the same time and at the same venue as gulfBID and gulfInteriors exhibitions creates unparalleled access to the three major elements in the residential and commercial property development value chain – from architecture and design to material procurement; and the latest interior design capabilities, from specialist finishes to contemporary kitchen and bathroom designs.”

Arif Hejres, chairman of BaPDA, a key driving force for the kingdom’s property development sector, said: “The Gulf Property Show provides a welcome boost for Bahrain’s real estate sector, which is a vital indicator of economic growth and development for any economy.

“The Gulf Property Show is an exciting promotional platform showcasing the kingdom’s various residential and commercial property assets, as well as being a dedicated event promoting the wider real estate, property developments and related services in the Gulf and international market.

Mr Abdulrahman added: “The response to the inaugural Gulf Property Show has been overwhelming, to the extent that demand for space from exhibitors has exceeded supply. Like all good developers we will need to address this issue for 2014.”

Support from its gold sponsors Bahrain Financial Harbour and Sakaan (Saar Central) further reflect the mix of commercial and residential property that will be on display with other participants including Reef Island, Durrat Marina, Pegasus and Dubai-based Sherwoods.

Gulf Property Show will be open to trade visitors and members of the public today and tomorrow from 9am to 9pm.

THIS year’s gulfBID, the annual exhibition for the Northern Gulf’s construction industry, is the biggest in the show’s seven-year history.

Building on positive sentiment in a regional construction sector underpinned by strong economic indicators and a multi-billion dollar project contact pipeline reportedly worth $64.5 billion alone this year, gulfBID 2013 was declared sold-out by organisers Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE) several weeks ago.

Opened yesterday, it features a raft of new product and services launches – including the latest regional offering from international commercial vehicles and transport solutions provider MAN Trucks – and interactive presentations which bring capabilities to life in the exhibition hall. gulfBID promises to continue its fine tradition of adding value to the show.

Other supporters of gulfBID2013 include Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bahrain Exhibition & Convention Authority (BECA), the German Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa) and British Expertise.
