HIT comedy series Two and a Half Men may soon have to change its name following the introduction of a new female character.

According to Deadline, Two and a Half Men is planning to introduce an as yet uncast character to replace Angus T. Jones’ Jake Harper.

The new role will be that of the daughter of the deceased Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen). Details remain guarded but the rumour mill is suggesting the girl, in her late teens or early 20s, will show up at Walden Schmidt’s (Ashton Kutcher) home, saying she’s looking for the house’s previous owner, her father. She’ll eventually move in with Walden and her uncle Alan Harper (Jon Cryer).

Series stars Jon Cryer and Ashton Kutcher are set to return for the CBS comedy’s 11th season (Kutcher joined the show in its ninth season in 2012 after Sheen was fired). Jones, 19, might return as a guest star.

Jones’ exit shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that he described the show as ‘filth’ during a November 2012 interview with the Christian group Forerunner Chronicles. “You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that,” the actor said. “I know I can’t. I’m not OK with what I’m learning, what the Bible says and being on that television show.”

Jones quickly issued a public apology and thanked the cast and crew for their support, guidance and love over the years. US Weekly reported that he is planning to focus on a music career.

Two and a Half Men airs Thursdays to Mondays at 10am, 3pm and 7pm on OSN Comedy.
