Gulf Weekly Wagstaff and Wales triumph

The pairing of David Wales and Steven Wagstaff triumphed in the latest African & Eastern Monday Madness Night Golf competition at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 31.1.

The duo achieved the lowest gross score of the night and did not drop a shot throughout, showing the value of playing steady, strategic golf and taking chances when they arise.

Second place went to the pairing of Gordon Bennie and Ian Donachy who shot nett 31.9 while Shaker Hubail and Abdulla Sultan claimed third place with nett 32.

The points gained take Hubail and Sultan to the top of the overall order of merit at the halfway point in the series. Brendy Santiago enjoyed a fantastic night’s ball striking as she claimed both nearest the pin prizes on holes 12 and 16.

The competition, which was fully subscribed, was played in the popular pairs scramble format.

Kate Gibson from African & Eastern was on hand to present the prizes.

The A&E Monday Madness Night Golf Series is open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night for the 9-hole event and tees off every Monday evening with a 6.30pm shotgun start.
