The pairing of Hamad Salem and Adel Al Fayyadh were crowned champions of May’s VIVA Fourball League competition at the Royal Golf Club with a score of 23 points.
The winning duo had a single point cushion from the second-placed team of Paul Carpenter and Kevin Ross who finished with 22 points, beating Tony Bridgens and Ian Gore into third place on the same score. Rob Lane won the nearest the pin side contest on hole 12.
“We had another great turnout for the VIVA Fourball League this month,” said John Wilson, the Royal Golf Club’s golf sales and events manager. “With BlackBerry mobile phones on offer for the winners, it’s no surprise that the competitions continue to attract a good number of competitors each month.”
The betterball stableford competition is played on the club’s Montgomerie Championship Course on the last Tuesday of every month and the top six scores from a maximum of 10 will count towards the final overall scores.
