Mercedes-Benz launched the new technologically-advanced S-Class was unveiled on Sunday at a launch ceremony staged at the Royal Golf Club at Riffa Views, writes Stan Szecowka.
The wrappers came off a stunning 2014 ruby black Mercedes-Benz S 500, boasting silk beige/espresso brown leather upholstery set to be snapped up for BD62,887.
The press and dignitaries gathered to be shown the majestic Merc by Graeme Newport, general manager of Al Haddad Motors, the marque’s distributor in Bahrain, accompanied by senior colleagues including sales manager Mark Price and Paul Lomax, after-sales manager.
“With the new S-Class you’ll experience the advancement of an automobile that has made history with countless innovations causing a sensation thanks to its ground-breaking technologies.
“Yet the new S-Class is much more than the epitome of top-of-the-range luxury cars. The new S-Class is an excellent place to work or relax in a refined setting as you drive from A to B.”
With the three engineering priorities of ‘Intelligent Drive, Efficient Technology and Essence of Luxury’, the new vehicle extends the boundaries of technology on many levels.
Its makers say perfection to the last detail makes this vehicle stand out. The new model is the world’s first car to dispense entirely with light bulbs in favour of LEDs, pointing the way ahead once again for headlights, taillights and the interior.
This pursuit of the best is particularly noticeable in the interior: whether it is the seats or the air conditioning, the controls or the design, the infotainment or the comfort in the rear.
The same applies to safety. Thanks to a new stereo camera and radar sensors, the S-Class has 360-degree all-round vision and detects potential dangers on the road.
