Despite high winds and poor visibility over the weekend, Royal Golf Club member Jason Smith fired an impressive 70 nett to win division one in the Club’s Euro Motors BMW monthly medal competition.
Sultan Al Hakam was a very close runner up with a nett score of 71.
In the second division, Ian Robson and Murtuz Zamanly both scored nett 73 with Robson taking top spot after the countback system was implemented. Tony Meakin enjoyed a comfortable win in category three, scoring 73 nett, while Dena Wales came second on nett 80.
All the winners progress on to the Euro Motors BMW Grand Final which will be held at the Royal Golf Club in December.
“Congratulations to all three category winners,” said Bernie Morgan, the Royal Golf Club’s director of golf operations. “They did very well in extremely challenging weather conditions.”
