Gulf Weekly Viewing issue solved!

How many arguments have you had with your significant other, or children, about what to watch on TV?

That could all be a thing of the past thanks to Samsung’s new S9C OLED TV, which can show two programmes simultaneously on the same screen.

The TV’s Multi View feature takes the same concept used to create 3D video with active shutter glasses, but instead lets the TV display two sources at once.

Each pair of 3D glasses has a button which switches between the two feeds, letting you swap from one TV channel to another or from a games console to a Blu-ray player, without disrupting other viewers.

The 3D glasses have four separate synchronisation channels, meaning you aren’t restricted to 2D content - if you wanted, you could have two different 3D videos running at the same time.

You get a Full HD picture and you also get stereo sound through the pair of in-ear headphones built into the headset arms.

The smart TV boasts a curved 55in screen that can also dim or brighten its screen automatically according to the room ambience. You can change channels by talking to it or scroll through them with a flick of your hand.

It can recommend programmes, allow you to email, tweet as well as store photos and music.

The screen is mounted in a polished metal frame, which despite looking like it would let you swivel the set is locked firmly in place. The screen itself curves outwards to better fill your vision.

Among the technological wonder’s other features is Ultimate Contrast: With a contrast ratio that’s far greater than that of current LED TVs, you’ll witness absolute blacks, pure whites and brilliant colours for a picture that’s as authentic as anything you’ve ever seen, its makers say.

The Samsung Smart TV is also capable of finding the movies and TV shows you like – and more. You can speak into the mic on the Smart Touch Remote to get TV recommendations and use gestures to swipe and navigate within the five Smart Hub content panels.

The only bad news for customers in Bahrain is that you’ll have to wait. The BD4,253 TV will be arriving in the UK’s John Lewis store and Samsung’s Experience outlet shortly and no date is currently available for release in the Gulf States.
