My five-year-old boy has sworn off five star hotels for life having found that a certain one didn’t have any chocolate cake available.
He remembered hearing that when his aunt ordered cheesecake in a less than swish restaurant along the Budaiya High Road, a waiter got on his bike and went to Al Osra supermarket to get some. He couldn’t understand why the hotel would not do the same!
Try explaining that one.

We are planning to host the seventh Shahrazad Annual Charity Bazaar on December 28.
Charity proceeds will go toward supporting children with cancer and their parents under the ‘Smile’ initiative organised by Future Society for Youth.
We urge readers to come and donate their unwanted goods such as books, clothes, furniture, toys, kitchen items, electronics, plants, games, art work and antiques for this noble cause.
Donated goods will be received up until December 26 in Shahrazad Hall from 9am till noon and 5pm to 7pm. The bazaar will then take place in the hall (previously known as Bushehri Hall – off Budaiya Road – turn right after Zait Al Zaytoon Restaurant) on December 28 from 9am to 7pm.
