Fashion mogul Michael Kors believes that for the holidays a woman should have it all. She should be a rock’n’roll denim-wearing diva draped in diamonds for Christmas, writes Mai Al Khatib-Camille.

With the festive season right around the corner, the former Project Runway judge made sure his 2013  collection was cosy but glamourous – the perfect combination for the holidays.

Fashion blogger and stylist, AlAnoud Badr has worked closely with Kors in the past and was recently sent on a mission to launch the Michael Kors holiday collection throughout the region.

The fashionista, who describes herself as Saudi Arabian-Lebanese-American, said: “My style is edgy and not very feminine. It’s more rock-chick runway, which is very Michael Kors.

“I was working with him to launch the new holiday 2013 collection in Bahrain, Kuwait and perhaps in Saudi Arabia. I’m a huge fan of his new collection, especially as there are a lot of key pieces that you can mix and match.”

Miss Badr, known to her fan following as Lady Fozaza, unveiled the new line to a crowd of shoppers at Michael Kors store in Bahrain City Centre. She styled a variety of looks that can be taken from day to night using Kors chic totes and bags, loafers and Moccasin’s as well as rushed dresses, leopard printed trousers and skinny jeans.

She said: “I wanted to show people the different ways to wear his collection and how to mix and match.

“That’s what I like about fashion. I don’t like to buy a whole look that you can’t wear with anything-else. With Michael Kors holiday collection you can have one shirt and wear it with three different outfits. It’s very versatile.”

One model rocked the Hamilton Tote in powder blue combined with a grey leopard print dress and flats, a great outfit for the office. Miss Badr wore the exact same dress with a denim jewelled-collar shirt, loads of accessories and killer heels for an edgier flair.

Miss Badr also advised women to invest in a nude pair of heels, which she paired with slim fit jeans with zippers down the side of the ankles, a flouncy designer branded blouse and a mini Selma bag. Bedazzled collars, sleeves and slacks seem to be all the rage this season.

After the fashion show, a raffle was held in which one lucky winner took home MICHAEL Michael Kors Large Selma Studded Saffiano tote.
