The Bahrain International Motor Show showcased the latest 2014 models from the world’s biggest car manufacturers. Commercial vehicles, numerous motorbikes, quad bikes, classic and vintage cars, as well as customised and modified vehicles were all on display.

Ebrahim K. Kanoo, the distributor of Toyota and Lexus in Bahrain, exhibited two exclusive vehicles in its Lexus booth.

The Lexus LF-CC (Lexus Future-Captivating Coupe) is a two-door coupe concept with a front-engine and rear-wheel drive. Its makers say it offers a glimpse of how the Lexus RC and RCF will look like when they will be launched in Bahrain in October 2014.

The sporty Lexus LFA was also showcased. This flagship model for Lexus cars within the F portfolio was built with a limited production of 500 units worldwide and was assembled by hand.

The Lexus booth featured a total of nine models, including the brand’s F Sport line-up, IS F, LS F Sport, GS F Sport, IS F Sport, and the LX Sport. It also featured the 2014 RX and the recently launched 2014 GX.

Motorcity, the distributor of Volvo cars in the kingdom, revealed the Volvo V40 2014.

The Volvo V40 is in the premium hatchback class and boasts sharpened features and characteristics from the larger Volvo cars, wrapped in a sleek and compact package, its makers say.

Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre T5 Petrol engine delivering 213bhp paired with an automatic 6-speed gearbox.

The new model features a class leading safety and driver support package, including Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake and several other new features including the world first pedestrian airbag, Lane Keeping Aid with haptic auto steering and Park Assist Pilot.

Meanwhile, Nissan’s iconic sports car, the GT-R, has been revamped for 2014 and offers a new level of sophistication with no compromise on performance, the company says.

The new model offers a smoother ride and more refinement while delivering improved performance and road-holding.

The supercar’s new, high-intensity, multi-LED headlights add more visual appeal and enhanced visibility. The new headlights feature an Adaptive Front lighting System that automatically adapts the angle of the light beam according to the speed of the car.

And speed is something this model was built for. Under the bonnet is a twin-turbocharged and direct-injected 3.8-litre V6 that pumps out 545bhp.

All Nissan GT-R models come standard with dual front, front side and front side-curtain airbags in addition to traction and stability control systems and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
